{NEW FASHION BUY} 1960's MOD DRESS!

Today I finally went shopping and gave my driving lessons a rest (going for my P's on friday, wish me luck!) and found something I had been looking at for a while {well actually my new obsession}, actually 1960's fashion has always been something I always wanted but now I have started to study it further and want to own a couple pieces of my own. Now I like the whole decade of the 1960's fashion except for the end, where it begins right into the 70's. Anyways I once again saw the pair of shoes I had had my eyes on for a while but once again didn't buy but for sure will next time because I bought a dress that suits it quiet nicely (and I will wear for uni!).

I was on my way out of the shops until I spotted something from the window of a ladies wear shop, something mod, so I rushed in and couldn't believe my eyes I had found a mod dress without even trying and it was only $20. Boy way I in luck today. So here's a picture I took of it on instagram.

(please excuse my sisters' messy room hahaha)

Classical Style Icon-Jackie Kennedy

Classical Style Icon-Jackie Kennedy
22/November, marks the 50th anniversary since the JFKennedy assassination, here's a collage in memory of the beautiful Jackie O& JFK and Jackie's wonderful style. The Kennedy has become of a great interesting topic for me, I recently went to the library and bought a pile of books on the Kennedys and bought the book 'These few precious few day'- The final year of Jack with Jackie' by Christopher Andersen, I'm only at the beginning but it is written very well, it really captivates the reader, into the early events of the 1960s. Also I have borrowed the book 'Mrs Kennedy and me' by Clint Hill, I just love that book, it is also written very well and is very interesting as you get an outside view of the Kennedy's and the friendship between them it just lovely :) I do strongly recommend them to anyone interested in the Kennedy's.

Sewing Floral 60s: UPDATE! Part #1

So it has been almost a month since I have been on, I have very busy again. Although coming to the bright side I have found time to show my new dresses I have been working on. Recently I had a textiles assignment and I had to create  a futuristic gown for a ball in the year 2040, however I was unable to finish it. I only got the dress done but not the accessories. As previously stated I had bought the pattern Butterick 5607 and made my first dress to test the pattern out and later on I had to use the pattern for my school assignment but had to make adjustments. So here is the dress I first worked on, I didn't end up buying floral material for the dress because this satin material was meant for my assignment but I changed my mind. Although I did buy some vintage floral sateen recently at Spotlight for a great deal. Anyway here is my first one (I haven't done the hems yet):

Breakfast at Tiffy's

Vintage fashion is back in, it's jumped back to the fifties, which in fact had a beautiful range of style. An example can be taken from Rayban Sunnies inspired by Audrey Hepburn breakfast at Tiffany's.

You may say that many famous people have been wearing vintage styled fashion, is was very neat and tidy, being high-necked, long in length and the hairstyle always being buns. Take Zooey Deschanel for instance
